Covidien TED Black Knee Length Anti-Embolism Stockings for Continuing Care

Because the risk of developing thromboembolic diseases like deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism (PE) can continue for up to six weeks after being discharged from hospital, it's vital that you can properly reduce the risk of these potentially fatal events occurring.

The Covidien TED Black Knee Length Anti-Embolism Stockings for Continuing Care have been developed to reduce the risk of thromboembolic diseases developing in recuperating patients though a graduated compression pattern, helping increase blood flow rates to prevent blood clots forming in the leg.

Clinically Proven to Reduce Thromboembolic Diseases

TED stockings are the only anti-embolism stockings which have been clinically proven to reduce the risk of thromboembolic disease, where blood clots (which most commonly form in the leg) break free. From there they can travel to the lungs where they obstruct the pulmonary arteries, restricting blood flow.

To effectively reduce the risk of clots developing, the stockings utilise a graduated compression pattern to encourage blood to quickly move through and back up the leg, helping to reduce the chance of blood clots forming in the leg and reducing the risk of fatal pulmonary embolisms.

Designed for Comfort

As well as being highly effective, the stockings are also incredibly comfortable to wear. All Covidien TED continuing care stockings are latex free, reducing the risk of allergic reactions, and also feature a closed toe, making them feel comfortable and natural on your feet.

Purchased following Total Hip Replacement
Thursday, 7 December 2017  |  John

Wife had a Thr approx 10 days ago and was issued with white toeless compression socks following surgery. I had previously had black toed socks from this company and had been highly delighted with both price, quality and prompt delivery. It was not a difficult choice to obtain the same Black socks this time around. Once again highly pleased with all aspects and will use again without hesitation

Same brand, same size as issued by hospital, but with sensible toes, not those things that keep slipping back.. I shouldn't be surprised that they are quite expensive for what they are, but there you go.

Just what the doctor ordered
Friday, 18 August 2017  |  Kate

The stockings came very promptly. They are an excellent fit and, since I'm going to have to wear them for the next month, much more comfortable than the hospital ones without toes. I wish I'd thought of ordering them sooner. If I had a quibble, I would say that the colour choice is a little limited.

comfort by degree

More comfortable than the DVT stockings issued by the hospital, same manufacturer but not closed toe design. Being only 5' 3" I would urge suppliers to address the calf length as all are too long for me resulting in bunching up at the knee or forced to fold down (a no no). I have road tested 3 different types with this hip replacement and would hope for more comfort for the next op.

Comfortable Stockings
Thursday, 2 March 2017  |  Judith

Bought these stockings for my husband as he has just had a replacement knee operation. Although they are the same make as were given him by his hospital, he says these stockings are more comfortable.
Being able to wear black as a change to the usual white is a bonus too. A++
