Covidien TED Black Knee Length Anti-Embolism Stockings for Continuing Care

Because the risk of developing thromboembolic diseases like deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism (PE) can continue for up to six weeks after being discharged from hospital, it's vital that you can properly reduce the risk of these potentially fatal events occurring.

The Covidien TED Black Knee Length Anti-Embolism Stockings for Continuing Care have been developed to reduce the risk of thromboembolic diseases developing in recuperating patients though a graduated compression pattern, helping increase blood flow rates to prevent blood clots forming in the leg.

What's Included?

Each purchase of the Covidien TED Stockings includes a pair of anti-embolism stockings.

Clinically Proven to Reduce Thromboembolic Diseases

TED stockings are the only anti-embolism stockings which have been clinically proven to reduce the risk of thromboembolic disease, where blood clots (which most commonly form in the leg) break free. From there they can travel to the lungs where they obstruct the pulmonary arteries, restricting blood flow.

To effectively reduce the risk of clots developing, the stockings utilise a graduated compression pattern to encourage blood to quickly move through and back up the leg, helping to reduce the chance of blood clots forming in the leg and reducing the risk of fatal pulmonary embolisms.

Designed for Comfort

As well as being highly effective, the stockings are also incredibly comfortable to wear. All Covidien TED continuing care stockings are latex free, reducing the risk of allergic reactions, and also feature a closed toe, making them feel comfortable and natural on your feet.

What Level of Compression do the TED Stockings Provide?

The Anti-Embolism Stockings for Continuing Care feature differing compression on different parts of the leg. This is as follows:

  • Upper thigh: 8mmHg
  • Lower thigh: 10mmHg
  • Popliteal: 8mmHg
  • Calf: 14mmHg
  • Ankle: 18mmHg

Sizing for the TED Stockings for Continuing Care

To find your size, measure your calf's circumference at its thickest part and measure the distance from the bend of your knee to the bottom of your heel at the back of the leg. If possible, these measurements should be taken in a standing position.

What the doctor ordered.
Monday, 23 November 2020  |

These were almost literally what the doctor ordered. I was discharged from the Nuffield Hospital with two pairs after TKR and luckily mine had the supplier name and size on them. I immediately bought two more pairs and they were great. Very comfortable and easy to use.

Although i have only used the stockings for a few weeks they do exactly what I want them to do. If they last very well they will deserve 5 stars.
