How Does the JOBST Compression Stocking and Liner Work?
When the valves in your blood vessels stop working, blood is not able to flow properly through your extremities and venous ulcers can develop. By applying pressure to the leg with increasing intensity, the garment is able to improve circulation to relieve these symptoms.
What Is the Purpose of the Liner?
The liner of this system can be worn all day to deliver the correct amount of compression for venous ulcer treatment, and to secure wound dressings in place. It is lightweight and breathable for maximum comfort, and can be machine washed for hygienic use.
What Is the Purpose of the Stocking?
The compression stocking supplied in the JOBST UlcerCARE System is intended to provide the correct amount of compression for treating venous ulcers when combined with the UlcerCARE Liner. It has a texture exterior for enhanced stiffness and pressure application, yet is still easy to slide on and off over the silk liner.
How Does the Zipper Aid Donning?
Compression stockings can be difficult to fit over the leg due to their tight fitting nature. When the zipper is opened however, this stocking has more give, and it can be easier pulled over the leg even if there are dressings underneath. For your preference, there is a choice of zipper on the left or right side.
What Colour Is This Compression System?
The liner of this system is white in colour, while the stocking is black. Its plain design offers discreet wear for both men and women.
What Makes This Compression System Easy to Don?
To ensure patients are able to easily manage their own condition, the JOBST Compression system is made to be incredibly easy to apply, remove and clean. The silken liner can be slid on and off with ease, and provides minimal resistance so the low-friction stocking can be swiftly applied over the top.
Is This System Comfortable to Wear?
The liner of this system is made from soft silk that is gentle on the skin, and remains slimmer than most bandaging even when combined with the stocking. Both garments are also latex-free to avoid triggering allergies or skin sensitivity.
Which Level of Compression Do I Need?
The liner and stocking of this compression system combine to provide 40mmHg of gradient pressure to the leg. This is the recommended level of compression for treating both active and healed venous leg ulcers, making it an ideal, non-invasive solution for such conditions.
How Often Should I Replace My Stockings?
Whilst they will last longer depending on usage and application, it is recommended that you swap your stockings out every six months to maintain optimum compression standards.
